IN THE WORD THIS WEEK:
Radical PP Toolbox 3Sunday School: This past week we began the church-wide study, “Radical”.
  • Lesson 1: Someone Worth Losing Everything For (Luke 14:25-33). Jesus calls us to give up everything and follow Him.
  • Our main points were:
    1. Following Christ requires complete devotion (Luke 14:25–27).
    2. Following Christ requires counting the cost (Luke 14:28–32).
    3. Following Christ requires radical abandonment (Luke 14:33).

Wednesday Youth Group: This week we began a new 4 week mini-series: “Bulls Eye – A Narrowed Focus on Christ”. We will zero in on how we can make Christ the central focus of our lives.

Lesson 1 of 4 – “Jesus Beat the Odds” We examined the accuracy of OT messianic prophecies, saw how they were fulfilled in the NT, and were challenged to trust God more fully.

Memory Verse: Isaiah 7:14

Follow-Up Discussion: (use these to talk with your teen about what they’re learning)

  1. Why is it so important to know that God’s prophecies are always accurately fulfilled?
  2. Understanding that Jesus came to earth knowing what would happen to Him, how can you show thankfulness this week?
  3. Since nothing is impossible for God, in what ways do you need the God of the impossible to help you right now?

IMPORTANT INFO:

Youth Band: Our youth band leads worship in Youth Group most Wednesday evenings.  If your teen is interested in trying out, have them join us for rehearsal on Wednesday evening, at 6 pm in the Sr. High room.
