Pasta Dinner is coming!

Can you smell it? Can you taste it!? Pasta? Meat? Spaghetti sauce? And dessert! Lots and lots of desserts! Desserts as far as the eye can see! And all of this to help further the Kingdom!

We serve an amazing God, and He is working! This year we are sending out nearly 60 adults and students from OneEightyOne student ministries to Washington DC and Indianapolis. Members of our church will be showing God’s love to those in need in practical ways like helping to clean, do yard work, and paint. They will be praying with strangers and sharing the gospel with them on the street. We are setting out to be used by God to change the lives of others, but we will also return changed!

And we need your help! This Sunday is our annual pasta dinner and dessert auction; one of our biggest fund raisers of the year. We will raise a significant portion of our funds during this event. So what can you do to help?

Well, first off, you can buy a ticket and come eat lunch on Sunday. You can invite others to come enjoy lunch; friends, family, even strangers! Invite that neighbor that you’ve been witnessing to and pay for their ticket! After lunch you can bid on one (or more, we won’t judge!) of the dozens of amazing, homemade desserts that are part of the auction! Eating carbs and dessert for Jesus? Does life get any better?!?

Second, we could use help setting up, preparing, and serving. On Saturday, the 28th, we will be doing the bulk of our set up from 9am-11am. Tables, chairs, and decorations all need to go up along with dessert tables, serving lines, and drink stations. Come and serve, we could use “all hands on deck”!

Then on Sunday, we will be finishing set up at 10:45am so that we are ready to serve the masses at 12:30. We need hands to help finish set up, plating food during the meal, serving drinks, and clean up.

If you have already agreed to help with set up, serving on Sunday, or are making something for the auction, thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!!!! We couldn’t do it without you! If you haven’t, and you want to, well come on by on Saturday or Sunday morning to lend a hand (hopefully two)!

Finally, and most importantly, pray. Pray that God will move in the hearts of all those attending to be generous with their giving; Not for us, for God and His glory! Then pray that God would lead you how to you can best help and give.

Thank you!

Youth Center Renovation and Work Day (Updated)!

This has an update over the 1st post about the work day this Saturday, the 21st.

As you all are probably aware, we started a much needed renovation of the youth center a couple of months ago. Work is progressing but there is still much to be done, and we need your help! We will be having another student work day this Saturday, from 8 am – 4 pm. It would be a huge help if you can make it for the entire work day, but even if you can only make it out for an hour, we could really use your help! Additionally, we are asking that any parents who are available would also come lend a hand!

You don’t need to have any special skills or training, but we could use all hands on deck to help make sure that we meet our completion date of June 1st. Lunch will be provided! So come on out and have some fun tearing things up, down, and then putting things back together! Do remember to wear work cloths/shoes. If you have work gloves, it might help to bring them, though we will have several pairs on hand (no pun intended).

Thanks for your help!

What are you doing this summer?!?

Still trying to figure out how to spend your free time this summer? Have you considered going to summer camp? We are looking to take a group of students to The Wild (6th-8th) and The Island (9th-12th) during the week of July 1-7th. Both camps are organized and run by Word of Life.

Summer camp is an amazing opportunity to have a week of adventures and fun. Meeting new people, playing awesome games, and having experiences that you can’t have anywhere else. But it is so much more than a fun time; it is a time to experience God like never before. As one who attended camp nearly every summer as a student, I can vouch for the fun and the life changing impact that happened every week I was there, so much so I had to work there as a college student! Camp is an investment in your student’s spiritual life that cannot be missed!

If you are interested you must complete registration AND pay the deposit by Saturday, 3-31  to take advantage of the early bird pricing!

If your student is 6th-8th they can get more info, register and pay the deposit HERE.

If your student is 9th-12th they can get more info, register and pay the deposit HERE.
