Cans for Good: Last Thursday a number of our students collected hundreds of nonperishable food items. These will be distributed to families in need.  It’s exciting to see our teens fulfilling the commands of Christ by helping others

This past weekend our SLAM (Student Leadership and Ministry) Team had our annual retreat at Stony Glen. It was a wonderful time of playing, planning, and praying.  I’m proud of our student leaders who want to help their peers find and follow Jesus Christ!

IN THE WORD THIS WEEK:

Radical PP Toolbox 3Sunday School: This past week we began the church-wide study, “Radical”.
  • Lesson 6: Multiplying Community (Matthew 28:16-20).
  • Our main points were:
    1. As followers of Christ, we submit to the authority of God. (Matthew 28:16-19).
    2. As followers of Christ, we fulfill the mission of God. (Matthew 28:19-20a).
    3. As followers of Christ, we enjoy the presence of God. (Matthew 28:20b).
  • Our memory verse is Matthew 28:19.

Wednesday Youth Group: In our current series we’re studying ways we can pursue Christ and stay closely connected to Him.

“An Appointment with God” We learned the importance of making the time to spend in a personal quiet time with God.

Memory Verse: Amos 3:3

Follow-Up Discussion: (use these to talk with your teen about what they’re learning)

  1. Why is it important to spend time with God?
  2. What should be included in every appointment with God?
  3. What are some things you may have to cut out of your life to keep your appointments with God?

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Christian College Tour – November 13-15: Upperclassmen, here’s your chance to check out 5 Christian colleges and universities. We’re leaving right after school on Wednesday, November 13 and returning late on Friday, November 15. We’re visiting Malone University, Grove City College, Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Cedarville University, and Ashland University. The cost for this trip is only $50.   • This is a high-energy night of extreme fun. We’ll begin with a Cleveland Monster’s hockey game, followed by an intense youth rally with games and activities on the ice, raffles, and prizes. We’ll spend the rest of the night with a pizza party, hours of bowling, and hours of games and inflatables at CSU’s athletic center. The highlight of the evening is a powerful Gospel presentation following the hockey game. Invite your friends!
  • We’re meeting @ PHBC at 5:30 pm on Friday, November 8, and returning to PHBC at 5:30 am on Saturday, November 9.
