And just like that, the summer’s gone, and the school year is well underway. I enjoyed our School Year Kickoff Cookout two Sundays ago. I’m excited for all that God has in store for our group throughout this year.

IN THE WORD THIS WEEK:
Sunday School: This past Sunday we completed our summer study through the book of Acts.One of the major themes we saw in Paul’s life was how persecution was often a platform for ministry and sharing faith in Christ.
All In: This is our Baptism and Membership class for all students in 7-12 grade. We will focus on the basics of the faith, including: salvation, baptism, and church membership. Students interested in baptism and/or church membership must attend.
Wednesday Youth Group: This week we started a series on the Holy Spirit entitled, “Close Encounters of the Third Person”. This is an introduction to our theme for the year as we explore the Third Person of the Godhead – the Holy Spirit.
For Discussion:
- The Holy Spirit knows everything about you and your struggles and yet wants to help you. How does knowing this help you or give you comfort?
- What things do you need the Holy Spirit to teach you and how will you listen and respond to Him this week?

9/7 Promotion Sunday – 9th graders move up to Sr. High Sunday School
9/7 Mission Trip Lunch – CLE2014 participants are encouraged to join the Foundations Growth Group for lunch at Tim & Cara Hunsickers’ where we will share stories of how God worked during our week of service. 12:30-4:00 pm.
