Many thanks to the Randolphs and their Growth Group for hosting our Super Bowl Outreach Party! It was a great time and we had a terrific turnout.

All InAll In: Discovering Church Membership” begins this Sunday. This will provide an opportunity for our teens to prepare for baptism and membership. We’ll be studying: Our Salvation Our Sacraments, Our Structure, and Our Strategy. Junior High and Senior High will be combined for this 4-week series.

Sunday School – The Gospel of John:John

  • This Week’s Theme: Students learned that Jesus is the light of the world, and were challenged to share this light with others.
  • Focus Passage: John 9
  • Main Points (Parents – use these to follow-up with your teen):
    • We examined the miracle of Jesus giving sight to the blind man.
    • We saw the accusations thrown at Christ:
      • He didn’t keep the Sabbath
      • He was a sinner
      • He was merely a prophet
    • We explored the responses of the blind man, his parents, the crowd, and the religious leaders
    • We examined our own hearts to see how we’re responding to Jesus

Wednesday:TRUE NORTH

  • Miniseries: “True North – When All Seems Lost” in which we’re learning how God’s attributes and character help us through life.
  • This Week’s Theme: “It’s Under Control” The students worked on developing a deeper understanding and appreciation of the sovereignty of God.
  • Scripture Memory: Daniel 4:35 “All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: ‘What have you done?’””
  • Discussion Questions (Parents – use these to follow-up with your teen):
    • How would you explain God’s sovereignty to a friend?
    • Describe a situation in which you’ve seen or heard or a tragedy or crisis that ended up bringing good to someone.
    • Share a circumstance in your life that brought you closer to God and how it might possibly have resulted in others wanting to learn more about God?
